I have been gifted with a deep desire to help people find comfort and ease in their bodies. This endless drive for learning has fueled me for the last two decades. Recently, as I reflected on my choice of profession—and even those of my sisters—I recognized a common thread. One of my sisters is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist specializing in Sports Medicine, while the other is the Chief Clinical Officer for an Integrated Behavioral Health Organization. All three of us have chosen paths focused on helping others.
Growing up, we were told from a young age to “love all, serve all.” This quote by Sai Baba was a fixture on the walls of our home, and it clearly shaped our beliefs.
Much research shows that our beliefs profoundly impact our lives. Are you clear on what yours are? If you wonder why your life is the way it is, look closely at your beliefs. You may find they are reflected in the world around you.
One of the many joys of my profession has been creating spaces for connection, particularly through retreats. These gatherings have become a highlight of my career, bringing immense joy to those who attend—and to myself.
As the quote says, “The secret, Alice, is to surround yourself with people who make your heart smile. It’s then, only then, that you’ll find wonderland.” Surrounding myself with those who seek growth, peace, and joy has been a cornerstone of my work. In that space, we all find our own kind of wonderland.
With love,
Lila
