5-minute Daily Neuro Warmup

Uncategorized Jan 29, 2025

"Life is like a little boat upon the sea.
Everything is a part of everything anyway.

You can have it all, if you let yourself be."

Hi Friends,

What is something you're craving more of in your life?

 • Time?

 • Space?

 • Money?

 • Carefree moments?

 • Home-cooked meals?

 • Movement?

No excuses, friends. It’s past time we take action toward what we truly want. Some things require more planning and effort, but small steps lead to big changes. What step can you take right now to start creating a life that feels full, vibrant, and aligned?

A Simple Trick: Habit Stacking

One of my favorite ways to integrate new habits is habit stacking—pairing a new habit with something you already do.

For example, I want to get morning sunlight on my face and in my eyes, so instead of waiting, I take my dog for a walk early in the morning.

One of my clients wants to improve her balance, so she practices balancing drills while brushing her teeth and putting on her shoes.

The pace and promise of this new year

Uncategorized Jan 15, 2025

As the calendar flips to mid-January 2025, I find myself reflecting on the pace and promise of this new year.
What a start it's been.
How are you holding up? I’d love to know what this new year has brought to your mind and heart so far.

At the beginning of January, I attended a New Year’s workshop.
One of the prompts invited us to either write a letter to ourselves from December 31, 2025, looking back on the year and all we experienced, dreamed, and accomplished—or to write a poem.

I chose to write a poem.
It’s still a little rough around the edges, but sharing it feels like an act of courage and alignment with my purpose.
It feels vulnerable to do so, but since you are part of my vision for this year, it feels right.
Why not take a moment to write your own poem or letter to yourself, envisioning the year ahead with heart and soul? Let it be your compass for what’s to come.

the one that had been screaming to be seen.

The Serenity Prayer

Uncategorized Dec 18, 2024

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

-The Serenity Prayer

What a year it’s been. I have to say it’s been one of the hardest years of my life. I have had hard years before. The early years of raising my daughter as a solo parent were tough. But this year—whew—it’s been a doozy. I don’t like to talk about it much, and I only share in order to bring some solace to the fact that life is hard sometimes—and sometimes it’s hard for a while. Possibly, you are also going through something hard, and hopefully, you won’t feel alone.

I have an unpredictable health challenge that shows up unexpectedly and knocks me down for days at a time. It’s an inflammatory condition that has been hard to get under control. I am still in the "figuring it all out" stage, although I have learned a lot. I find the unpredictability of this possibly the hardest part. The nervous system craves predictabilit...

Simplicity Rules the Day

Uncategorized Dec 11, 2024

What if less is truly more?

We overdo everything:
Water.
Supplements.
Exercise.
Fasting.
Cold plunges.
Diets.
Working.

But what if simplicity is the antidote? The thing we’ve been chasing through the noise?

As the year comes to a close and a new one begins, consider embracing simplicity as your guiding intention. What if the goal for the new year wasn’t more, but less? Less striving, less clutter—and more room to breathe.

Today, ask yourself: What can I let go of? Where can I ease up?

Not everything has to be optimized. Maybe, in letting go, you’ll find more space—for rest, for connection, for simply being.

Your life is your practice. Choose simplicity today.

Begin Again

Uncategorized Nov 20, 2024

“Begin again”

How Do You Begin?

Each day, we’re given a choice in those first waking moments—how will we start? Will we rush into the chaos, or will we create space to step into the day with ease and intention?

It’s so easy to default to the former: reaching for our phones, checking emails, turning on bright lights, or diving straight into our to-do lists. But what if, instead, we eased into our day?

By noticing the patterns you follow, you can begin to identify what supports you and where small shifts might create more ease and balance in your day.

Imagine beginning your day with low lights, a breath practice, or a moment outdoors in the soft morning sunlight. These small, intentional choices invite a sense of calm and clarity, helping you meet the day feeling grounded and present.

The most important part of your day to make a healthy decision is the moment you wake up. How will you choose to begin?

Take a pause. Reorient. Tune in.

Here’s to honoring your needs a...

Every Act is an Act of Love

Uncategorized Nov 13, 2024

We can live our daily lives in such a way that every act becomes an act of love. - Thich Nhat Hanh

The holiday season is now upon us. Do you look forward to this time of year, or do you find it a bit overwhelming?

I've always loved the holidays—probably because my mom made them feel so special. I still remember the excitement of school ending, the chilly mornings when my sisters and I would cozy up by the fireplace, the smell of wrapping paper, and the taste of homemade cookies. But the best part was always the mystery, the sense of magic in the air.

One way I stay warm in this season is by doing a daily neuro warmup. It’s quick, energizing, and perfect for these colder days when we need a little extra boost to get moving. Check out the video below, and join me in keeping our bodies active and warm this season. Feel free to share it with anyone you think would benefit—they might appreciate the warmth, too!

Day to Night and Night to Day

Uncategorized Nov 06, 2024

"And just like that, day turned to night and night to day."

Wow… it’s already November. We made it through the election, and now—just as always, and maybe more than ever—we need to stay present in our bodies and hearts. Emotions are running high, and it’s so important to feel what arises, letting it flow through us rather than staying stuck inside. Each day we’re here is a beautiful gift, a chance to show up anew.

Let’s be intentional about grounding ourselves, tuning into our breath, and finding moments of stillness. Together, we can stay present, honoring our emotions and holding compassion for ourselves and others as we navigate these times.

Now that it's finally cooling off here in the Bay Area, I've started lighting candles at night and enjoying my dinners by candlelight. I highly recommend it!

I hope you, too, find moments of warmth and coziness this season.

I am resharing my lymphatic video below as this is also the season of the cold and flu. Keep your lymph moving and h...

Changing Your Environment to Heal

Uncategorized Oct 30, 2024

“You can’t heal in the same environment that made you sick.”

What does it mean to change your environment? It’s not always possible to pack up and move to a new home, city, or country. But the environment is more than just the physical space we occupy. What can we change?

 •  What you put in your body

 •  How you deal with stress

 •  Your thoughts, beliefs, and self-talk

 •  Your daily habits and routines

 •  How you move your body

 •  How you breathe

Change isn’t easy, but neither is feeling unwell. Starting small—focusing on just one or two simple adjustments—can have a profound impact on your system. As you consistently shift one habit, you can gradually build from there. The nervous system thrives on gentle, manageable steps. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is the simplest: laying down for a moment of rest, or saying no to a commitment that feels too heavy.

Here are three simple changes I made over the past year that helped me transform my environment:

What Are You Practicing?

Uncategorized Oct 16, 2024

“The wedding is an event, love is a practice.

The graduation is an event, education a practice.

The race is an event, fitness is a practice.

The heart, mind and body are endless pursuits.”

-James Clear

What Are You Practicing?

Each day we make choices, and whether we realize it or not, those choices shape our lives. In essence, your life is your practice. The question I’d like to pose is: What are you practicing?

Are you practicing patience, compassion, or self-care? Or perhaps you’ve been practicing stress, worry, or disconnection. Whatever you focus on, intentionally or unintentionally, becomes part of the fabric of your daily life.

In my work helping people reconnect with their bodies, I often remind them that small, consistent actions lead to lasting change. The same principle applies to life. What we practice, we embody. Our habits, thoughts, and actions accumulate to form the lives we lead.

Take a moment today to reflect on what you're practicing. If you find that y...

Find Comfort and Ease in Your Body

Uncategorized Oct 09, 2024

I have been gifted with a deep desire to help people find comfort and ease in their bodies. This endless drive for learning has fueled me for the last two decades. Recently, as I reflected on my choice of profession—and even those of my sisters—I recognized a common thread. One of my sisters is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist specializing in Sports Medicine, while the other is the Chief Clinical Officer for an Integrated Behavioral Health Organization. All three of us have chosen paths focused on helping others.

Growing up, we were told from a young age to “love all, serve all.” This quote by Sai Baba was a fixture on the walls of our home, and it clearly shaped our beliefs.

Much research shows that our beliefs profoundly impact our lives. Are you clear on what yours are? If you wonder why your life is the way it is, look closely at your beliefs. You may find they are reflected in the world around you.

One of the many joys of my profession has been creating spaces for connect...
